There is no indication Chancellor Angela Merkel’s airplane was grounded because of sabotage or a “criminal act,” a German air force spokesman said at a press conference Friday.
The plane, carrying the chancellor and Finance Minister Olaf Scholz to the G20 meeting in Argentina, was forced to turn back to Germany and land at the Cologne-Bonn airport late Thursday as a result of a technical defect.
