The foreign ministers of Hungary, Serbia, Greece and Macedonia are meeting in Budapest today (7 April) to discuss possible collaboration with the proposed ‘Turkish Stream’ pipeline bringing Russian gas to Europe via Turkey, bypassing Ukraine.
The plan was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to Ankara in December, as he declared that he was abandoning the planned South Stream project to bring Russian gas to Bulgaria underneath the Black Sea.
