LUXEMBOURG — EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini said Monday that European nations would try to do more to help Syria — particularly in terms of humanitarian aid — but she was “personally proud” the European Union was not involved militarily in the conflict.
“The European Union is not a player on the ground in Syria,” Mogherini said, arriving in Luxembourg for a meeting of EU foreign affairs ministers, where she said Syria would be the main topic. “I, for one, am personally proud.”
