Members of the European Parliament will gather today in Strasbourg where during the coming four days they will try to assess how deep and how lasting will be the effect on European Union business of last week’s horrific events in Paris.
That the Parliament is meeting on French territory, albeit almost 500 kilometres from Paris, will add to the emotion of the discussions, as MEPs express their outrage and pay their tributes to the victims.
