Ukraine can’t “rule out a full-scale Russian invasion” and may consider implementing a military draft, the country’s president said Thursday.
“The probability of escalation of the conflict remains very significant,” Petro Poroshenko warned in a televised address, Bloomberg reports.
Tensions in the region have worsened over summer. Earlier this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin blamed Ukraine for causing the deaths of two Russian servicemen and “practicing terror” in Crimea, the Ukrainian region Russia occupied in 2014.
