One policeman was killed and dozens were injured in clashes outside the parliament in Kiev on Monday, as lawmakers took a step towards giving special status to separatist-controlled regions in eastern Ukraine.
National Guard serviceman Igor Derbin, 25, was killed and several others were seriously injured by an explosive device thrown from a crowd of far-right protesters, the Kyiv Post reported, citing a Facebook post by MP Anton Gerashchenko.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said one officer had been killed by shrapnel wounds, Associated Press reported.
