DANISH EUROCRITIC DERAILED IN MONEY SCANDAL: A year ago Morten Messerschmidt was riding high. More than 10 percent of Danish voters cast ballots for him in the 2014 European election, the third highest number of votes for a single candidate in all of Europe for that election. He promised to fix the EU and make it more transparent: “The EU is a mess, the Danish People’s Party will clean it up” was in fact the slogan of a boat tour he operated to drum up support.
