Russian ambassador to the U.K. Alexander Yakovenko lashed at the British government, blaming it for reduced number of staff at the embassy in London.
He said British authorities are failing to issue visas for Russians to take up posts at the embassy and replace outgoing staff.
“The embassy is shrinking and if it continues the embassy will be reduced further. People cannot be replaced because the visas are not being issued,” the ambassador said, according to a BBC report.
Yakovenko also criticized Theresa May’s government for issuing “anti-Russian statements,” the BBC reported.
The Foreign Office denied they were delaying visas.
