Russia partially restored traffic through the Kerch Strait towards Ukrainian ports on Monday, the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure announced.
“The vessels are being stopped by the Russian side, they are still inspecting them, but partly the traffic has been restored,” the ministry quoted Infrastructure Minister Volodymer Omelyan as saying. The ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol are “partially unlocked,” he said.
Omelyan had previously announced on November 28 that vessels were being barred from leaving and entering Berdiansk and Mariupol.
Seventeen ships are waiting at the entrance to the Sea of Azov and another nine ships are berthed in ports, according to the announcement.
