BERLIN â Early one February weekend, President Trump let loose a cryptic complaint, followed by a barrage of Fox News-inspired tweets, about Sweden of all places. He made the Nordic country, home of gleaming lakes, cheap modernist furniture and one of the worldâs highest standards of living, seem like a dystopian hellhole overrun with rampaging refugees.
Sweden was not amused.
