Ukraine banned Russian trucks from crossing its territory Monday, following a similar move by Moscow over the weekend.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Monday that “madmen and bandits … are trying to stop our heavy goods vehicles,” after activists in western Ukraine began stopping trucks on Thursday. Russian trucks are now stopped in ten regions of Ukraine, the Interfax news agency reported.
On Sunday, the Russian transport ministry banned Ukrainian trucks in protest at the actions of the activists. On Monday, Ukraine retaliated.
