KIEV — A close ally of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko told POLITICO that he plans to convince Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the country’s prime minister, to resign in the coming days.
Once out, the goal would be to replace the chronically unpopular Yatsenyuk with a reform-oriented “technocratic” government potentially led by Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko, said Yuriy Lutsenko, leader of Poroshenko’s parliamentary grouping.
Lutsenko said he considered Yatsenyuk’s resignation “inevitable.”
