Government forces and pro-Russian separatists aim to reinstate a fracturing ceasefire in eastern Ukraine by the time students return to school next week, according to negotiators meeting with Ukrainian and Russian officials.
“The three-sided contact group considers it important to reach a solid ceasefire from the beginning of the next school year,” Martin Saidik, an official with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Ukraine, told reporters Wednesday in Minsk.
