The Russian president on a visit to Crimea Friday accused Ukraine of sabotaging the Minsk peace accords aimed at ending the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
It was Vladimir Putin’s fifth visit to the region since Russia annexed the Black Sea peninsula in 2014, sparking a conflict that has so far claimed 9,500 lives, Sky News reported.
The Russian president chaired a meeting of his security council Friday and said he hoped “common sense” would prevail, after he accused Ukrainian special forces of attacking Russian troops in Crimea earlier this month, killing two Russians. Kiev denied the allegations.
