The ongoing saga over France’s sale of two Mistral-class helicopter carriers to Russia took a new turn on Monday with Chinese media reporting that representatives from the French in Shanghai could propose a deal to sell the warships to China. In recent weeks Moscow has taken a firm, if conciliatory, stance on the Mistral deal.
