Zelensky was elected into office in April. (AFP pic)TALLINN: Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday dismissed suggestions that his country interfered in the 2016 US presidential election, rubbishing a conspiracy theory promoted by some allies of US President Donald Trump.
Zelensky, elected in April, told reporters that Ukraine did not interfere in the elections or the geopolitics of the United States.
Trump has been dogged by allegations that Russia helped him to win the 2016 election. While various investigations have found evidence of Russian meddling, none has linked those actions directly to the US president.
