On December 10—International Human Rights Day—Ukrainian civic activists, journalists, and lawyers came together at the very top of Lviv City Hall to read aloud an important document—the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Beaten by the wind and the rain, the activists took turns reading the entire text of the Declaration in Ukrainian, Norwegian, English, French, Polish, and Crimean Tatar languages to demonstrate the universality and independence of human rights and to emphasize that governments bear responsibility for abiding by and enforcing basic …read more
