WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Poland says it’s ready to sell weapons to neighboring Ukraine, as the U.S. weighs whether to offer Kiev armaments in support of its struggle against pro-Russia rebels.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Marcin Wojciechowski said Tuesday that Poland was ready to sell armaments to Ukraine in a commercial deal. He didn’t say if any deals were being negotiated.
President Barack Obama is reconsidering his opposition to giving Ukraine defensive weapons in what might suggest that Washington is concerned that economic sanctions on Russia are not doing enough to end the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
