Ukrainians on Friday celebrated the one-year anniversary of the protests that toppled its pro-Russian president.
The civil uprising, sparked by President Viktor Yanukovych’s decision to walk away from an association agreement with the European Union in favor of closer ties with Moscow, began when a few hundred protesters gathered on a central square in Kiev on Nov. 21.
