As tensions rise inside rebel-held areas of Ukraine, Russia is planning to deploy long-range bomber flights to patrol the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean near U.S. territory.
The plan is a show of military muscle on Moscow’s part as Western leaders continue to put pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to deescalate the deteriorating situation in Ukraine.
