They have posted dozens of images of themselves on the blood-stained battlefields of eastern Ukraine, standing proudly atop tanks with Kalashnikov rifles in hand, operating surface-to-air missile launchers and posturing with other camouflage-clad fighters near the destroyed Donetsk airport.
Now, Russia’s so-called “selfie soldiers” are uploading photos of themselves in war-torn Syria, where they are supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s ailing regime.
