According to the latest Global Trends report of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) released on Monday, 65.3 million people around the world were forcibly displaced at the end of last year, meaning that one in every 113 was either asylum-seeker, internally displaced or refugee.
This is the largest number of forcibly displaced people ever recorded by UNHCR.
The report estimated that on average 24 people were forced to flee each minute in 2015, which was a fourfold increase compared to a decade ago.
