Romania Gives Green Light to Building 2 NATO Centers


Romania’s Parliament has passed a motion to authorize the construction of two NATO facilities in the capital Bucharest, in a move President Klaus Iohannis says is crucial to security in Eastern Europe.
Approved overwhelmingly by MPs, the move is needed “within the context of the Ukraine crisis” and “the aggressive actions of Russia in the regions,” AP quotes the head of state as saying.
The two centers are to become fully operational by 2018 and will be in charge of coordinating military command in both Romania and Bulgaria.
