Air Canada has cancelled its Tuesday night Toronto to Tel Aviv flight and Wednesday’s return flight from Israel because of risks from the conflict in Gaza.
The airline tweeted the news Tuesday afternoon, saying it had cancelled the two flights and will “continue to evaluate going forward & update.”
The move follows a statement issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration on Tuesday ordering American carriers not to fly into Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport for the next 24 hours after a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed about 1.6 kilometres from the airport.
