Vancouver’s Polaris Prize-shortlisted rock band Black Mountain play Zaphod Beeblebrox on Friday, exhausted after spending weeks on tour. (“We’re no longer 24 years old,” said drummer Joshua Wells, who’s turning 41 this month, “but whenever we get on stage, that all goes away.”) It’s the third nomination and second time shortlisted for the eclectic, nu-classic rock band, who have done something alchemical with their latest album, IV, that they almost called it ‘Our Strongest Material to Date.’
