It would be hard to imagine a less opportune historical moment for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to be falling from its stature as a beloved and iconic national institution and revealing itself as a salt mine of backbiting, ass-covering, bullying and lechery. It’s as though the only thing that was holding the whole edifice together was the grinning public persona of a single, marginally talented celebrity hipster who is now facing four criminal counts of sexual assault and one of overcoming resistance by choking.
