After kicking off the first phase of public hearings with a 90 minute ministerial Q&A on Wednesday, the Special Committee on Electoral Reform is set to hear from outgoing Chief Electoral Officer Marc Mayrand this morning.
Mayrand, who will leave his post later this year, can likely expect to be quizzed over the technical challenges involved in switching to a different system of counting up votes, and will likely also be obliged to address concerns over the state of Canada’s current referendum laws.
