Kerry visit won’t change Canada’s chilly relationship with Moscow, Nicholson insists


Foreign Affairs Minister Rob Nicholson defended Canada’s cold shoulder to Moscow on Tuesday as his American counterpart, Secretary of State John Kerry, made his first visit to Russia since the crisis in Ukraine erupted last year.
Canada has suspended all but the most low-level discussions with Russia over the latter’s annexation of Crimea and support for pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, where fighting has killed an estimated 5,000 people since last year.
