Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk was smiling and waving at visitors to his Toronto hospital room Wednesday, less than a day after receiving a life-saving liver transplant, said team president Cyril Leeder.
“He is stable and he is not talking, but he is responsive, so when people talk to him he understands,” said Leeder. “His colour is improving, so it looks like the liver is functioning the way it should.”
