The 2015 Ottawa Chamber Music Festival kicked off Thursday night to the bright-penny sounds of trumpets, trombones, tubas and more.
The Canadian National Brass Project is a tiger team of 18 elite brass players (and two percussionists) from Canada’s top symphony orchestras, including Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg and Ottawa’s own NACO. The group is led by James Sommerville, the Canadian principal horn of the Boston Symphony and former conductor of the Hamilton Philharmonic.
