A new Canadian approach to the Syrian refugee crisis could see teams of public servants and security staff deployed in two countries struggling under the weight of the problem: Lebanon and Jordan.
Government officials wouldn’t discuss the focus of round-the-clock meetings that have been taking place in the last week, but both countries are likely to be in their sights for direct support. On the campaign trail, Conservative Leader Stephen Harper, under pressure from his opponents, has indicated that new refugee measures are coming soon.
