From the frigid waters of Germany and Britain, to the balmier climes in Monaco and Australia, swimmers donned their best red and white santa hats and celebrated Christmas with a dip.
In London, England’s Hyde Park, swimmers took part in an annual race held in the Serpentine Lake since 1864.
In South Korea and France, scuba divers dressed as Santa Claus waved holiday wishes from underwater. Swimmers in Barcelona took part in the Copa Nadal (Christmas Cup) where participants are encouraged to wear fancy dress — though the more serious competitors tend to keep outfits streamlined.
