Russia is in the process of moving closer economically and militarily to India and China as it deals with sanctions from Western countries over the situation in Ukraine.
While Western leaders boycotted May 9 ceremonies in Moscow to mark the 70th anniversary of the defeat of the Nazis, Chinese and Indian leaders were high profile at the event.
In the latest news Russia says its land forces will join troops from Belarus, China, India, and Mongolia in a series of joint military training exercises. The exercises, planned for later this year, will focus on peacekeeping and anti-terrorist skills.
