This week’s statement from the Prime Minister’s Office marking the 72nd anniversary of Canada’s participation in the ill-fated raid on Dieppe had me wondering which other anniversaries his office felt worthy of an official communique.
(Thomas Mulcair also issued a statement this week noting 72nd anniversary of Dieppe, though this seems to be a new trend from the NDP leader.)
While Harper has typically made note of any significant date in Canadian military history when its anniversary is evenly divisible by five, oddly numbered anniversary statements are less frequent but not unusual.
