It’s a red-circled date on the parliamentary calendar that is, in its own way, as comfortingly familiar as the annual decking of the halls outside the Commons Chamber: Dec. 10, which marks the end of the current installment of the financial supply cycle and the cut-off date for what will almost certainly be the last designated opposition day of the year.
(That is, unless the government chooses to allot one or more days in the brief interim before the House shuts down for the holidays.)
