Ukrainian unit accused of Neo-Nazi links wants Canada’s help


Ukraine’s Azov Battalion is looking for help from Canada. Unit members are not happy with being branded as Neo-Nazis. Recently, U.S. lawmakers voted unanimously to block American troops from training the unit.
Democratic Congressman John Conyers, Jr. joined forces with Republican Congressman Ted Yoho to add an amendment to the Pentagon’s defence spending request. The amendment, passed unanimously by members of both parties, blocks “the training of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi paramilitary militia Azov Battalion,” Conyers’s office noted.
The unit has continued to face accusations of Neo-Nazi links.
