A Ukrainian group claims it hacked the email account of one of Vladimir Putin’s top aides, releasing more than 1 gigabyte of emails.
A trove of emails from Vladislav Surkov show that Russia was likely involved in the separatist movement in Ukraine, leading to the Russian takeover of the Crimea region in 2014.
“This is a serious hack,” said Maks Czuperski, head of the Digital Forensic Research Lab of the Atlantic Council (DFRL), reported NBC News.
