The rupiah traded among banks in Jakarta depreciated by 10 points on Friday morning, falling to Rp 11,760 per US dollar from the previous day’s Rp 11,750 per dollar.“The weakening of many currencies in developing countries against the US dollar has impacted the rupiah rate, even though the impact is relatively limited,” Trust Securities research head Reza Priyambada said in Jakarta on Friday as quoted by Antara news agency.The fact that Russia was getting more aggressive by deploying more personnel to Ukraine despite being sanctioned by the West made for negative sentiment toward the domestic currency, he explained.On the other …read more
