Whatever awaits voters come inauguration day, it’s now clear that one of the biggest foreign policy challenges facing the next president is what to do about Russia. Yet America’s plan for meeting that challenge is far from clear.
President Barack Obama’s unwillingness to meaningfully challenge Russia has increased the risk of a global Russian push against our allies and interests. It has made those allies, especially in Europe, very nervous. So far, neither Donald Trump nor Hillary Clinton has articulated a detailed strategy to regain America’s footing.
