LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Chess grandmaster Wesley So scored his second victory, a masterful 39-move thrashing of Baadur Jobava to grab a share of second place with two others after six rounds of the Tata Steel chess championship in Wyjk ann Zee, the Netherlands.
Playing the black pieces, the 21-year-old So completely outplayed the adventurous Georgian to join world champion Magnus Carlsen and Wojtaszek Radoslaw, half a point behind the solo leader in the tough tournament.
At the top of the standings, with 4.5 points, is Wassily Ivanchuk of Ukraine, who was held to a draw in the sixth round.
