ANTALYA, Turkey – They weren’t exactly fightin’ words, but Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he told Russian President Vladimir to “cease” interfering in Ukraine.
The remarks came during a brief conversation between the two on the sidelines of the G20 leaders’ meeting.
It was exactly a year ago that then-prime minister Stephen Harper punctuated his government’s tough stance on Russia’s annexation of Crimea and support for separatist rebels in Ukraine by famously telling Putin to “get out of Ukraine.” Both were attending the 2014 G20 summit in Australia.
