The European Union is considering a proposal to offer visa-free travel up to 90 days in the 28-nation bloc to Ukrainians, rewarding the country for its judicial and security reforms.
EU Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said Wednesday in Brussels, the Ukrainian government has successfully achieved “far-reaching and difficult reforms” in justice and internal affairs.
The proposal to transfer Ukraine to the list of countries whose citizens can travel without a visa to the Schengen area follows Migration Commission confirmation last December that Ukraine successfully met all benchmarks under the EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan.
