There is little hope that a peace summit in Minsk will end fighting in eastern Ukraine, where pro-Russian rebels are seeking independence from Kyiv. As German and French leaders sat with their counterparts from Ukraine and Russia to negotiate a deal to end hostilities between Ukrainian troops and the separatists, at least two people were killed in fighting in eastern Ukraine.
