The remains of some of the nearly 300 people who died in a Malaysian Airlines crash last week were being readied to be flown to the Netherlands early Wednesday.
A transport plane sat on the tarmac at the airport in Kharkiv, Ukraine, as the Ukraine government planned a departing ceremony for the bodies of MH17 passengers and crew who were victims July 17 of fighting raging far below them on the plains of eastern Ukraine.
The Dutch government declared a day of national mourning as the country prepared for the arrival of the first bodies in the afternoon.
