Poland’s former Finance Minister and mastermind behind the transition from communism to capitalism Leszek Balcerowicz has been appointed as an advisor to the Ukrainian government.
“A team of international advisors to the Ukrainian government has been established, with Slovakian former deputy Prime Minister Iwan Miklos serving as its president. Leszek Balcerowicz will also join the group,” a statement by the government press office read.
The advisors’ role is to help in implementing reforms, tightening cooperation with the IMF and executing the Ukraine-European Union Association Agreement.
