The nuclear power explosion at the Chernobyl power plant happened on April 26, 29 years ago.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko arrived near the site in order to honor the memory of the victims of the heavy industrial incident that left a mark on the entire world.
”The restoration and development of independent Ukraine is irreversibly connected with the history of the struggle to counteract the consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe, with the stories of people who were affected by the fearful disaster,” stated the Ukrainian President as quoted by RIA Novosti.
